Women's Network Committees
BackChanging the Odds Committee
Mission: The Changing the Odds committee assists women who are looking for ways to improve their job prospects,
including women who have never held a job, may have left the job market for a period of time or have had recent changes
in their career goals. Many participants come from centers such as the McCambridge Center, Women's Shelter, Boone County
Partnership, HDC and other community outreach programs.
The committee puts on two programs a year. These programs are free to participants and include topics such as putting
together a resume, filling out job applications, preparing for and attending job interviews, searching for employment
positions, overcoming personal obstacles and conflict resolutions and learning about workforce laws. Programs also address
wardrobe makeovers and professional look tips. Guest speakers include human resource and personnel, lawyers, motivational
speakers, office managers and business owners.
Changing the Odds is a great committee for anyone who is interested in making a difference in peoples lives.
